Frequently Asked Questions

What documents are required to apply?
You must have a valid Korean visa, an Alien Registration Card (ARC), a Korean mobile number registered under your name, and a Korean bank account under your name. Your ARC must exactly match the name on your bank account and phone number.
How long do contracts usually last?
In South Korea, standard internet contracts offer the largest monthly discounts when committing to a 3-year term. If you cancel before the 3 years are up, you will be subject to an early termination penalty fee calculated by the ISP based on the length of time used and the discounts received.
Is the installation fee a one-time charge?
Yes, the installation fee (₩36,300) is a one-time dispatch fee charged by the internet service provider. This will typically be added to your first month's bill and covers the technician coming to your home to run the lines and set up the modem.
Is a Wi-Fi router included?
Depending on the plan, a standard modem is provided, but a Wi-Fi router is often considered an add-on rental (usually +₩1,100 per month). You can choose to rent one through the ISP or purchase your own router from a store like E-mart or Coupang.
How long does installation take?
Once your application is submitted and approved by the ISP, a technician visit is usually scheduled within 1 to 3 business days, depending on availability in your area.
